JACKSONVILLE – A Philadelphia law firm has filed suit against a Fernandina Beach resident and his corporation over claims he didn't pay it for legal services.
Kang Haggerty & Fetbroyt LLC filed a complaint on March 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division against Baxter McLindon Hayes Jr. and Utilipath Holdings Inc., citing alleged breach of contract and unjust enrichment.
According to the complaint, the defendants hired the plaintiff to represent them in two lawsuits in April 2014. The plaintiff alleges that the defendants failed and/or refused to pay the December 2014 and January, February and March 2015 invoices, totaling $94,032.79.
The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for damages, plus interest, costs of this action and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. It is represented by David P. Dean of Kang Haggerty & Fetbroyt LLC in Philadelphia.
