Several businesses accused of violating ADA

Disabled

ORLANDO – A Broward County woman alleges that several businesses are not readily accessible to disabled citizens.

Patricia Kennedy filed a complaint on Feb. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Kite King's Lake LLC, doing business as King Lake Square; J P R Trusting Enterprise Inc.; Utopia Nail And Spa Inc.; The Resch Kids LLC; Kings Lake Hair Design Inc.; and Asian Palace Inc., citing violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff, who uses a wheelchair, alleges that she suffered frustration and humiliation as a result of the discriminatory conditions at the defendants' locations. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to ensure that their facilities are readily accessible and usable by disabled persons.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for attorneys' fees and costs; an order to make the defendants' facilities readily accessible to individuals with disabilities; and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Thomas B. Bacon of Thomas B. Bacon PA in Mount Dora and Aaron Finesilver of Finesilver Law in Miami.
