MIAMI – A U.K. citizen alleges she was injured by a fellow cruise ship passenger while docked in Haiti.
Frances Jacqueline Houston filed a complaint on Feb. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Arthur Hunter, a Canadian citizen, citing alleged negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff and the defendant were passengers on the cruise ship Freedom of the Seas. The plaintiff alleges that on March 4, while the ship was docked at Labadee, Haiti, she was broadsided by the defendant while on a wave runner tour, causing serious injuries. The plaintiff holds Hunter responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently operated his wave runner.
The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for damages, costs of this action, prejudgment interest and any other relief that the court may deem just and appropriate. She is represented by Andrew L. Waks of Waks & Barnett PA in Miami.
