JACKSONVILLE –  A Duval County man alleges his former employer owes him unpaid wages.

Joseph Aralar filed a complaint Feb. 17, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division against Scott McRea Automotive Group LLP alleging that the car dealer knowingly violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between April 2014 and September 2015, he did not receive proper overtime compensation as required by law. The plaintiff holds Scott McRea Automotive Group LLP responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the rate of one-and-one-half times the regular rate for all hours worked over 40 hours in a work week.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for liquidated damages, attorneys' fees and costs, prejudgment interest and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Earl Johnson Jr. of The Law Offices of Earl Johnson Jr. LLC in Jacksonville.
