PANAMA CITY– A couple is suing a Panama City Beach restaurant and owner after the husband allegedly became ill after dining there.
Richard Thibault and Jacqueline Thibault filed a complaint on Feb. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, Panama City Division against Dat Cajun Place Cafe and Trudy White, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that Richard Thibault became extremely ill hours after consuming raw oysters contaminated with Vibrio vulnificus on Aug. 30, 2014. The plaintiff holds Dat Cajun Place Cafe and Trudy White responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to implement reasonable measures to warn and protect consumers against foreseeable harm.
The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for damages, prejudgment interest, costs for this action and any other relief that the court may deem just and proper.
