Mustang parts dealer sued in patent case

Lawsuit

MIAMI — A shipping company based in Florida is suing a Pennsylvania-based dealer in Ford Mustang parts, alleging patent infringement.

Shipping and Transit LLC filed suit Feb. 5 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against CJ Pony Parts Inc., claiming the parts dealer knowingly violated U.S. patent law.

The plaintiff claims the defendant infringed on a patent held by Shipping and Transit by using an electronic tracking and notification system and shipping confirmation email services.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for damages, pre-judgment interest, attorneys' fees and costs and all other relief that the court deems just and proper. Shipping and Transit is represented by Jason P. Dollard of Leslie Robert Evans & Associates in Palm Beach, Florida.
