PMAB accused of telephone harassment

MIAMI – A Miami-Dade County resident is suing a debt collector over claims it is trying to collect a debt that she does not owe.

Chanell S. Ward is suing PMAB LLC filed a complaint on Feb. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against PMAB LLC alleging that the debt collector knowingly violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she received unsolicited, pre-recorded messages from November 2014 to February 2015. The plaintiff holds PMAB LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly called repeatedly seeking to collect a debt she does not owe, as the suit states the debt belongs to her estranged brother.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for damages, attorney’s fees, litigation costs and expenses and any further relief that the court may deem proper. She is represented by Donald A. Yarbrough of Donald A. Yarbrough, Attorney at Law in Fort Lauderdale.
