Worker claims Ocean Spray Hotel did not pay overtime wages

MIAMI – A maintenance worker is suing a boutique hotel over allegations of unpaid overtime.

Victor Rodriguez filed a complaint on Feb. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Vistas International Hospitality LLC, doing business as Ocean Spray Hotel, Mauricio Novoa and Francis Hawley, alleging that they knowingly violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being compensated for all extra hours worked for the defendants.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for double the amount of damages/liquidated damages, reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs and any further relief that the court may deem and just equitable. He is represented by R. Martin Saenz of Saenz & Anderson PLLC in Aventura in Florida.
