MIAMI – A Wisconsin resident is suing cruise ship operator over injuries she allegedly sustained while on the trip.
Janet Olson filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against NCL (Bahamas) LTD, doing business as Norwegian Cruise Lines, citing alleged design defect, failure to warn and negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 4, 2015, she slipped and fell on or near the steps of the Jacuzzi/spa area on the ship Norwegian Epic, resulting in severe personal injuries. The plaintiff holds Norwegian Cruise Lines responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to install reasonably safe flooring and steps that are not slippery when wet.
The plaintiff seeks compensation for all lawful recoverable damages. She is represented by Michael Winkleman of Lipcon, Margulies, Alsina & Winkleman PA in Miami.
