Rings

MIAMI — A U.S. permanent resident is suing the U.S. citizen who married her. The woman's lawsuit claims the U.S. citizen is in knowing violation of his affidavit-of-support obligation.

Liudmila Levin sued Saul Levin on Feb. 1 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Both parties are Miami-Dade residents.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she has not received full financial support from the defendant equal to 125 percent of the federal poverty line, which she says she is due indefinitely under the law regarding sponsorship of an immigrant, regardless of the event of a divorce.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for damages amounting to the past due financial support obligation, pre-judgment and post-judgment interest and attorneys’ fees, costs and expenses. She is represented by Stephen M. Bander and Paul Kunz of Bander Law Firm, PLLC in Miami.
