MIAMI — A cruise ship passenger is suing Carnival Corporation alleging she was injured aboard the Carnival Glory after encountering a slippery substance that caused her to slip and fall.
Ruthann Goodlin filed a federal claim on Jan. 6 in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Carnival Corporation, citing negligence.
According to her complaint, Goodlin was a paying passenger aboard the defendant’s cruise ship, the Carnival Glory, on Sept. 15, when she slipped and fell on an allegedly hazardously wet surface on the 12th deck. As a result of the fall, the plaintiff claims to have suffered bodily injury requiring medical treatment, loss of wages and aggravation of a previously existing condition.
Goodlin seeks damages in excess of $75,000, legal costs and a trial by jury. She is represented by David W. Singer of David W. Singer & Assoc., in Hollywood, Florida.
