Bertha Wilson, the personal representative of the estate of Jennie L. Daniels, has filed a lawsuit against Sovereign Healthcare of West Palm Beach, LLC., doing business as Boulevard Rehabilitation Center. The case was filed in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida under case number 502024CA003131XXXAMB Div: AG on April 3rd, 2024.
The plaintiff alleges that during Jennie L. Daniels' residency at Boulevard Rehabilitation Center, the staff and employees failed to develop an adequate care plan and properly monitor her treatment. As a result, Daniels suffered from the development and deterioration of wounds and infections leading to sepsis.
The defendant, Sovereign Healthcare of West Palm Beach, LLC., is accused of violating Chapter 400 of Florida Statutes which sets standards for operating nursing homes. The plaintiff seeks damages in excess of $50,000 exclusive of interest and costs.
