A gay man, is accusing a former employer of sexual orientation discrimination.

Darren Moser filed his lawsuit in federal court against KDD Inc.

In the complaint, Moser alleges he was subjected to harassment and discrimination based on his sexual orientation while working for KDD. Once his co-workers learned he was gay several months into his employment at KDD's My Shower Door shop in Fort Myers, Moser claims their attitudes toward him changed drastically. He says he was ostracized based on his sexual orientation and had to navigate an environment of extreme hostility and discrimination.

He claims he was unlawfully terminated due to his sexual orientation and was subjected to an increasingly hostile work environment.

Moser is seeking back pay, front pay, punitive damages, compensatory damages, injunctive and declaratory relief as well as attorney fees and court costs. The lawsuit comes after Moser received his Notice of Right to Sue from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on January 22.
