Bridgette Hill, acting as the personal representative for the estate of her late father, has filed a lawsuit against two healthcare companies, alleging negligence and wrongful death. The complaint was filed on April 8, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County against Sovereign Healthcare of West Palm Beach, LLC, doing business as Boulevard Rehabilitation Center, and Southern Healthcare Management, LLC.
The lawsuit centers around the care provided to Clemons Wright during his residency at a nursing home operated by the defendants. According to the complaint, Wright suffered from various preventable injuries due to alleged negligence by the facility's staff. These injuries included pressure sores and infections that ultimately led to sepsis and other serious health complications before his death on January 16, 2024. Bridgette Hill contends that these injuries were a direct result of inadequate care and supervision provided by both Sovereign Healthcare and Southern Healthcare Management.
Hill's complaint accuses the defendants of violating Chapter 400 of Florida Statutes which governs standards for nursing homes. The allegations include failure to prevent physical injury and abuse, failure to assess risks properly, failure to provide necessary medical treatment timely, and overall neglect in maintaining adequate staffing levels and policies at the facility. The plaintiff argues that these failures contributed significantly to her father's deteriorating condition and eventual death.
The lawsuit seeks damages exceeding $50,000 for wrongful death under Florida’s wrongful death statute. It demands compensation for medical expenses incurred prior to Wright's passing, funeral costs, loss of net accumulations, as well as mental pain and suffering endured by surviving family members. Additionally, Hill is pursuing survival damages should it be determined that her father's injuries did not directly cause his death but still resulted in significant pain and suffering.
Representing Bridgette Hill is attorney William J. Sarubbi II from Senior Justice Law Firm based in Boca Raton. The case is presided over by Judge Natasha DePrimo under Case Number 502025CA003316XXXAMB Div: Al.
