A woman is seeking justice after a harrowing incident at a local bar and grill left her with severe injuries. Gwendolyn Webb filed a complaint on March 12, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, against D&C Ventures, LLC, doing business as The Deck Bar & Grille, and Isla Del Sol Shoppers Village, LLC.

According to the complaint, Webb was visiting The Deck Bar & Grille on September 3, 2023, when she experienced a traumatic accident. While seated on the wooden deck of the establishment located at 5901 Sun Blvd #100 in St. Petersburg, Florida, her chair suddenly collapsed through the deck. This unexpected fall resulted in significant physical injuries for Webb. The lawsuit claims that both defendants had a duty to maintain their premises safely but failed to do so. "Defendant... had a duty to exercise reasonable care in inspecting and keeping premises in a safe condition," states the complaint.

Webb's allegations include several counts of negligence against both D&C Ventures and Isla Del Sol Shoppers Village. She accuses them of allowing hazardous conditions to persist on their property without proper warnings or inspections. Specifically, Webb alleges that they permitted "a dangerous hazard" by not maintaining the wooden deck properly and failing to warn patrons about its potential dangers. Furthermore, she claims they did not take reasonable precautions to protect customers from these hazards.

The consequences of this alleged negligence have been dire for Webb. She reports suffering from bodily injury accompanied by pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life. Additionally, she has incurred expenses related to hospitalization and medical care while experiencing loss of earnings and diminished earning capacity due to her injuries.

In response to these grievances, Webb is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 from both defendants along with coverage for legal costs incurred during this process. She also demands a trial by jury as part of her pursuit for justice.

Representing Gwendolyn Webb are attorneys Kevin Molony from The Nurse Lawyer P.A., based in Palm Harbor; Vanessa King from The Law Firm of Vanessa L. King PLLC located in Saint Petersburg; both firms are working collaboratively on this case identified under Case Number: 25-001192-CI within Division: Civil Division at Pinellas County’s judicial circuit court system.
