A chaotic incident at a Delray Beach pizza restaurant has led to a legal battle involving multiple parties and allegations of negligence. Paul Ryan, the plaintiff, filed a complaint on December 27, 2024, in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, against Andrew Marc Rothschild and others associated with Izza Pizza. The lawsuit accuses them of failing to prevent an assault that resulted in severe injuries.

According to the complaint filed by Paul Ryan's attorney Mark S. Guralnick, the events unfolded on December 11, 2021, when Ryan was visiting Izza Pizza located at 25 Northeast 2nd Avenue in Delray Beach. During his visit, Leonard Tamar Williams allegedly caused a disturbance while intoxicated or mentally unstable. Despite Williams' aggressive behavior escalating over an hour, none of the defendants took action to ensure customer safety. "Defendants knew about or should have known about" Williams' erratic actions but failed to intervene or remove him from the premises.

The lawsuit details how Williams began throwing objects inside the restaurant, one of which struck Ryan in the face. As Williams exited the establishment, he threw another glass object that shattered near Ryan and lodged glass into his eye. The complaint states that this negligence resulted in serious and permanent injuries for Ryan, including medical expenses and loss of earning capacity due to impaired vision.

Ryan is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 for negligence against Rothschild and other entities involved with Izza Pizza and Mama’s Up All Nite (the current name for Izza Pizza). He claims these businesses operated as alter egos under various names controlled by Rothschild and Bobby Orfanos. Additionally, Ryan accuses Williams directly of assault and battery for his intentional actions causing harm.

In addition to compensatory damages for medical costs and lost wages due to vocational impairment, Ryan demands punitive damages against Williams for intentional infliction of emotional distress. The lawsuit highlights how Williams’ conduct was "willful, wanton, reckless," causing severe emotional distress alongside physical injuries.

Representing Paul Ryan is attorney Mark S. Guralnick from Fort Myers. The Case ID is: 502024CA012229XXXAMB Div: AA.
