Maria Price has filed a lawsuit against a prominent restaurant supply company and its branch manager, alleging negligence that led to her injury. The complaint was filed on December 4, 2024, in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, against Jetro Restaurant Depot, LLC doing business as Restaurant Depot, LLC, and Kurtis Logan.
The lawsuit stems from an incident on December 24, 2023, when Maria Price visited the Restaurant Depot located at 1520 SW 8th St., Boynton Beach, Florida. According to the complaint, while shopping as an invitee on the premises owned by Jetro Restaurant Depot, she tripped or slipped on an item left on the floor. This incident resulted in injuries to Price's body and extremities. The plaintiff claims that these injuries were due to negligence by both the company and its employee Kurtis Logan.
Price accuses Jetro Restaurant Depot of failing to maintain a safe environment for customers by allowing dangerous conditions to persist within their store. The complaint states that the defendants either created or failed to correct these hazardous conditions despite having knowledge or should have had knowledge through reasonable inspection. "The dangerous condition was known to said Defendant," asserts Price in her filing. She further alleges that there was a breach of duty by not warning her about these unsafe conditions.
In addition to suing the corporation itself, Price also targets Kurtis Logan personally for his role as branch manager during the time of her accident. She argues that Logan neglected his responsibility to ensure customer safety by not keeping floors clear of items and debris and failing to properly train staff on maintaining a hazard-free environment. As a result of this alleged negligence by both parties involved—Jetro Restaurant Depot and Kurtis Logan—Price claims she has suffered permanent injuries which have caused significant physical pain and mental anguish along with substantial medical expenses.
Price is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 from each defendant separately for their respective roles in causing her injuries. Her demands include compensation for past and future medical costs related to treating her injuries as well as compensation for ongoing physical pain and suffering resulting from this incident.
