A Florida resident has filed a lawsuit after suffering a severe fall on freshly painted stairs that lacked proper warning signs. Glenn Sacci, the plaintiff, filed the complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on November 27, 2024, against Richman Property Services Inc. and Intersolutions, LLC.
The incident occurred on April 12, 2024, when Sacci was leaving his apartment at Riverview House Apartments in Lake Worth to visit his doctor. The plaintiff had recently been hospitalized for heart valve issues and other health problems. As he descended the stairs from his third-floor apartment, Sacci slipped on wet paint and fell, sustaining injuries that have permanently affected his quality of life. According to the complaint, there were no signs or barriers indicating that painting was underway on the stairs.
Sacci alleges negligence on the part of both defendants—Richman Property Services Inc., which manages the property where he resides, and Intersolutions, LLC, which was responsible for painting the stairwell. The lawsuit claims that both companies failed to provide adequate warnings about the hazardous condition created by the wet paint. "It was reasonably foreseeable that someone would be injured by slipping on the wet stairs," states Sacci's complaint.
The plaintiff accuses Richman Property Services Inc. of failing to warn residents and visitors about the freshly painted stairwell and not taking necessary precautions such as blocking off or marking hazardous areas. Similarly, Intersolutions is accused of negligence for not placing safety cones or signs around their work area to alert individuals of potential danger.
As a result of this alleged negligence, Sacci suffered significant personal injuries leading to pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses due to hospitalization, loss of earning capacity, and aggravation of pre-existing conditions. The damages are described as either permanent or ongoing with future implications for Sacci's well-being.
In his legal action against Richman Property Services Inc. and Intersolutions LLC., Sacci seeks compensatory damages exceeding $50,000 along with costs incurred during litigation proceedings plus pre-judgment interest payments from both defendants should they be found liable by court decision upon trial completion; he also demands a jury trial for all triable issues involved within this case.
