A Florida woman has taken legal action against her former employer, alleging severe sexual harassment and retaliation in the workplace. Mabelin Diaz filed a complaint on November 27, 2024, in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, against Hawk-Eye Management, LLC. The lawsuit accuses the company of violating the Florida Civil Rights Act by fostering a hostile work environment and retaliating against her after she reported ongoing sexual harassment.
According to the complaint, Diaz worked as a property manager for Hawk-Eye Management and was subjected to continuous sexual harassment by her supervisor, Jon Stormont. She alleges that from mid-March 2024, Stormont's behavior escalated from inappropriate staring and comments about her appearance to making vulgar remarks and gestures. The situation intensified when Stormont allegedly made unwanted advances during work-related outings and even showed up at Diaz's home uninvited. In one particularly disturbing incident, he allegedly displayed a firearm to intimidate her.
Diaz claims that after reporting this behavior to company executives Erick Pamblanco and Laureen Weaver in late June 2024, Hawk-Eye Management failed to take appropriate action. Instead of addressing her concerns, the company allegedly retaliated by isolating her from business discussions, denying her a promised promotion, and subjecting her work to increased scrutiny. "Management began ignoring me in meetings," Diaz stated in her complaint, detailing how she was sidelined after coming forward with her allegations.
The lawsuit seeks damages exceeding $50,000 for lost wages and benefits, emotional distress, punitive damages, and attorney fees. Diaz is also requesting equitable relief for the alleged retaliation and hostile work environment she endured under Hawk-Eye Management's employment.
