Carol Reed has filed a lawsuit against a Florida hospitality company, alleging negligence that led to her serious injuries. The complaint was filed in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, on October 31, 2024, against Tri Murti Hospitality doing business as Rodeway Inn.

The case centers around an incident that occurred on July 22, 2023, when Carol Reed visited the Rodeway Inn located at 16405 US Hwy 19 North in Clearwater, Florida. As a business invitee and paying customer at the motel owned by Tri Murti Hospitality, Reed claims she was owed a duty of care for her safety. According to the complaint, while exiting the bathroom of her motel room, Reed slipped and fell due to a watery substance on the floor caused by either a leaky air conditioning unit or plumbing issues. This fall resulted in severe bodily injuries for which she is seeking damages.

Reed's lawsuit accuses Tri Murti Hospitality of several counts of negligence. She alleges that the company failed to maintain its premises adequately, creating hazardous conditions for guests like herself. Specifically, the complaint lists failures such as not maintaining or inspecting the premises properly to identify slip hazards and failing to warn guests about these dangers. Furthermore, it accuses Rodeway Inn of not correcting known dangerous conditions and lacking adequate staff trained to manage such risks. These alleged omissions are said to have directly contributed to Reed's accident and subsequent injuries.

As a result of this alleged negligence, Reed claims she has suffered significant physical and emotional distress. Her injuries include pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement with permanent scarring, mental anguish, loss of life enjoyment capacity, medical expenses for hospitalization and treatment, loss of earnings potential, and aggravation of pre-existing conditions. The lawsuit seeks damages exceeding $50,001 along with interest and court costs. Reed also demands a jury trial to resolve all triable issues.

Representing Carol Reed is attorney Michelle D Lambo from Morgan & Morgan Tampa P.A., based in Tampa, Florida. The case is identified under Case Number: 24-004782-CI.
