A man has filed a lawsuit accusing United Parcel Service of age discrimination and fraudulent inducement.
Otto Mesa filed his complaint in federal court against UPS.
According to the complaint, UPS offered Mesa a full-time position only to retract the offer after he had left his previous job and completed all necessary background checks and trainings.
Mesa says his age was a factor in this decision, as he witnessed younger employees being hired for full-time positions. The complaint also accuses UPS of running a scheme to fraudulently lure workers from other companies with the promise of full-time jobs, only to offer them part-time positions once they had left their previous employment.
