In the Circuit Court of the Second Judicial Circuit, Leon County, Florida, plaintiff Diane McBride has filed a lawsuit against Summit Care Group II Operations Holdings LLC. The case ID is 24-CA-2024 CA 000392 and was filed on March 6, 2024. The lawsuit alleges that McBride was subjected to retaliation and discrimination under the Florida Civil Rights Act and seeks damages in excess of $50,000.

The plaintiff, a resident of Florida and former employee of the defendant, claims she experienced retaliation following her previous report of sexual harassment while employed with the defendant in 2018. Despite her qualifications as a Certified Nurse Assistant with over 15 years of experience in diverse roles within the medical field, McBride alleges she was denied employment by Summit Care Group II Operations Holdings LLC in July 2022.

The complaint further details that after an interview with Hiring Manager Cassandra Johnson on July 8, 2022, McBride was offered a position but later informed that Johnson needed to consult with her supervisor before finalizing the hiring process. Despite numerous attempts to follow up, McBride received no further communication from the defendant.

McBride is seeking judgment against Summit Care Group II Operations Holdings LLC for violating her rights under Chapter 760 of Florida Statutes and 42 U.S.C. §2000e et seq., causing emotional distress and loss of income. She is demanding compensation for damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of costs and interest.
