Stanton D. Schwartz and Susan Gad Schwartz have filed a lawsuit against Northstar Cemetery Services of Florida, LLC, also known as Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida. The case number is 502024CA002204XXXAMB Div: AO and was filed on March 8, 2024.

The plaintiffs allege that they purchased adjacent family plots at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens for their final resting place next to Mrs. Schwartz's parents, Evelyn and Joseph Greenblatt. They claim that despite paying in full for these plots more than a decade ago, Northstar Cemetery Services double sold Mr. Schwartz's plot to another party who has since been interred there.

The Schwartzes discovered this when a third party informed them about the double sale, not from Eternal Light itself. Despite having their contact information and knowledge of its wrongdoing, Eternal Light did not notify them or attempt to rectify the situation.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages exceeding $50,000 exclusive of interest, attorneys' fees, and costs. They demand that Northstar Cemetery Services remedy this situation by disinterring the unauthorized remains from Mr. Schwartz's grave space.
