Timothy Selby and Doreen Selby have filed a lawsuit against Homeowners Choice Property & Casualty Insurance Company, Inc. in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. The case, bearing the ID 24-000907-ClI, was filed on February 26, 2024.

The plaintiffs claim that their property at 506 Harmony Lane, Tarpon Springs, Florida was significantly damaged by Hurricane Ian on September 28, 2022. Despite having an insurance policy (HCPC-HO3-112865-6) with the defendant company covering hurricane damages for the period between March 31, 2022 and March 31, 2023, they allege that the defendant underestimated and under adjusted their loss.

In their complaint filed through their attorney as per Florida Statutes sections 627.70152, 626.9373, 627.428 and/or 57.104, the plaintiffs are seeking damages in excess of $50,000 excluding attorney’s fees and pre-judgment interest.
