Christy Latrondra Smith sues City of St. Petersburg for personal injury and property damage

In the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit for Pinellas County, Florida, plaintiff Christy Latrondra Smith has filed a lawsuit against the City of St. Petersburg. The case, identified as 24-000980-CI, was filed on February 29, 2024. The lawsuit is centered around an auto accident involving a city-owned vehicle that resulted in personal injury and property damage.

The incident occurred on January 13, 2023, when a city-owned vehicle operated by Karl Anthony Williams collided with Smith's car at or near the intersection of 15th Ave S and 4th St S in Pinellas County. Williams was acting within his employment scope with the defendant at the time of the accident.

As a result of this collision, Smith alleges she suffered bodily injuries leading to pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of life enjoyment capacity, hospitalization expenses, medical and nursing care costs, earnings loss, earning ability loss and aggravation of a previously existing condition. Additionally, her car was damaged resulting in its loss during repair or replacement period.

Smith is seeking judgment against the City of St. Petersburg for damages exceeding $50,000 and requests a jury trial for all issues triable as of right by a jury. Her attorney is Lenny Carapella from Morgan & Morgan Tampa P.A.
