Ikram Cozart sues CMP CHP San Marcos Ltd for negligence causing bodily harm

In the Circuit Court of the Second Judicial Circuit, Leon County, Florida, a lawsuit has been filed by plaintiff Ikram Cozart against defendant CMP CHP San Marcos Ltd, doing business as Lakes at San Marcos. The court case ID is 2024 CA 000426 and it was filed on March 13, 2024.

The plaintiff, represented by William W. Gwaltney from Morgan & Morgan P.A., alleges that on July 21, 2023, while lawfully present on the defendant's premises located at 4768 Woodville Highway, Tallahassee, FL 32305, she suffered significant injuries due to negligence by the defendant. The defendant failed to maintain the premises in a safe condition and did not warn about any non-obvious dangers.

As a result of this negligence, an entry gate to the pool area fell suddenly and without warning onto Cozart causing her severe bodily harm including pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, permanent scarring and mental anguish among other damages.

Cozart is seeking judgment in excess of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000), plus interest and costs from CMP CHP San Marcos Ltd. She also demands a trial by jury for all issues triable.
