In the Circuit Court of the Second Judicial Circuit, Leon County, Florida, plaintiff Britt Kregan Wood has filed a lawsuit against the Florida Department of Corrections. The case number is 24-CA-2024 CA 000393 and was filed on March 6, 2024. The suit alleges violations under the Florida Civil Rights Act with claims exceeding $50,000.

Wood, a resident of Florida and former employee of the defendant, alleges that he faced retaliation after reporting unlawful employment practices within the department. He further asserts that he was subjected to disparate treatment due to his gender during his tenure from May 24, 2013 until his wrongful termination on May 6, 2021.

The complaint details instances of alleged harassment and retaliation by Warden Scott May, Data Entry Operator Tracey Enfinger, File Clerk Shianne Lee, and File Clerk Emily Floyd. These incidents included inappropriate sexual conversations in the workplace and threats made against Wood's employment.

Wood seeks judgement for damages related to his wrongful termination and for violations of his civil rights under Florida law. He contends that no corrective action was taken despite reporting misconduct several times. His termination came as a result of false accusations made by Enfinger, Lee and Floyd.
