A woman has filed a lawsuit accusing FedEx Ground of disability discrimination and retaliation.

Amy Greene filed her complaint in federal court against FedEx Ground Package System Inc.

Greene claims FedEx violated the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Florida Civil Rights Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act. Despite suffering from a physical or mental condition that substantially limited her ability to perform one or more major life activities, she says she could still perform her job duties with or without accommodation.

According to the complaint, Greene informed FedEx about her condition on March 21, 2022. Her medical provider advised her to take a medical leave of absence or be placed on light duty due to her condition. However, she claims FedEx failed to provide reasonable accommodation for her condition and did not engage in an interactive discussion regarding this.

Instead, Greene says FedEx made her work her normal job duties and only allowed her to leave work early as needed. This did not provide her with the proper ability to heal. From late-March through December 2022, Greene worked minimal hours each day before having to go home due to swelling and intense pain.

She seeks compensatory damages.
