An employee is accusing American Airlines of sexual harassment.

Alissa Gilman filed her lawsuit in federal court alleging she suffered sexual harassment and national origin-based discrimination at her workplace.

According to the complaint, Gilman was subjected to inappropriate comments and physical contact by a coworker identified only as Regent, a wheelchair agent at the airport. The incidents began in September 2022 when Regent watched a video of Gilman dancing on a game show and subsequently made sexually suggestive remarks toward her.

The situation escalated on January 13, 2023, when Regent allegedly pushed Gilman into a jetway and groped her. After this incident, Gilman reported the incidents to Judy Franklin, an official at American Airlines. Despite reporting the incident, Gilman claims Regent continued to harass her upon her return from vacation.

Gilman also discovered other employees had been harassed by Regent and had previously reported him with no action taken by the company. Although an investigation was launched and Regent was initially suspended, he was later allowed back at work.

She is currently undergoing psychological treatment due to these events.

Gilman is seeking compensatory damages.
