Former employee files racial discrimination, harassment suit against ExxonMobil

Federal Court
Exxonmobil

A former ExxonMobil employee has accused the company of racial discrimination and harassment.

Kristi Washington filed a lawsuit against ExxonMobil Corporation in federal court.

According to the complaint, Washington worked as a Time Keeper and Accounting Support at Exxon's administrative office in Cantonment. Washington, who is Black, claims she experienced pervasive racial discrimination and harassment during her employment, including racist and sexist comments, physical assault and a hostile work environment that ultimately forced her to resign.

Despite reporting these incidents to Exxon’s Human Resources Department, Washington claims the company failed to investigate or take appropriate remedial measures. The lawsuit seeks injunctive relief including changed employment practices and damages for intentional racial discrimination.
