Ari Newman, a shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice, was named to the American Bankruptcy Institute’s (ABI) 2023 “40 Under 40” list.
“We are extremely proud of Ari for being selected to ABI’s ‘40 Under 40’ list. He is a tremendous asset to our practice’s international bench strength and we look forward to watching his accomplishments grow,” said Shari L. Heyen and David B. Kurzweil, co-chairs of the firm’s Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice.
The list recognizes 40 professionals under 40 years-old who show leadership, achievement, and ability in bankruptcy and insolvency. ABI will recognize the “40 Under 40” during a luncheon at their annual Winter Leadership Conference Dec. 1 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
“I’m humbled to be listed alongside so many distinguished recipients and congratulate each of them,” Newman said. “This recognition does not come without an immense amount of support from my colleagues, family, and friends.”
Newman, based in the firm’s Miami office, has experience handling a variety of complex legal issues that arise in distressed situations, including in connection with Chapter 11 restructurings and liquidations, strategic planning, workouts, distressed transactions, bankruptcy litigation and state law liquidations. He represents companies experiencing distress, and offers counsel to Chapter 11 debtors, official committees in Chapter 11 cases, debtor-in-possession lenders, secured and unsecured creditors, parties to distressed transactions, and parties to bankruptcy litigation.
