MIAMI – A cruise ship passenger is suing Celebrity Cruises for injuries sustained from allegedly slipping and falling on a wet floor.

Plaintiff Lisa Kahan filed a lawsuit in federal court against Celebrity Cruises citing allegations of negligent failure to warn, negligent maintenance and general negligence.

According to the lawsuit, on October 26, 2022, Kahan was a passenger aboard the Celebrity Solstice when she allegedly slipped and fell on a wet and hazardous surface at a café on the ship, causing her severe injuries to her left knee and back.

Kahan alleges that the defendant failed to provide a safe environment for its passengers. The complaint argues that the cruise company neglected its duty to warn passengers of the dangerous conditions, failed to maintain safe walkways, and did not implement necessary safety measures to prevent accidents, among other allegations.

Kahan is demanding a jury trial to seek damages for various losses, including physical pain, mental anguish, medical expenses, lost wages, impairment of her working ability. She is represented in this case by attorney Ximena Castillo of Lipcon, Margulies & Winkleman in Miami.
