Jackson Lewis Expands Orlando Team with Addition of Justin W. McConnell

Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce the addition of Principal Justin W. McConnell in the firm’s Orlando office. Justin joins the firm from Fisher & Phillips LLP and brings with him invaluable experience in providing legal counsel and defense to both private and public-sector businesses across a variety of employment and business matters.

Justin’s practice focuses on defending employers in all stages of the litigation proceedings in state and federal court, most often in the financial services, retail and hospitality industries. He has successfully represented clients in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, non-competition, wage and hour, contract, and a variety of other employment, civil and business matters. Justin is a trusted partner of his clients, providing legal guidance to, and regularly conducting management training in nearly every applicable labor and employment matter, including day-to-day affairs such as hiring and interviews, employee discipline, leaves and accommodations, documentations and investigations, and risk-avoidance practices.  

Justin has a proven track record in successfully litigating, arbitrating and mediating employment disputes, and has participated in administrative proceedings before the Florida Chamber of Human Relations (FCHR) and the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to defend the organizations against charges of discrimination.

In addition to his legal work, Justin serves as the director of legislative affairs for the Greater Orlando Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and chairs the Labor and Employment Committee for the Orange County Bar Association. He is also a committee member of the HR Florida Legislative Conference and a member of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce.

Justin earned his J.D. from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law and his B.S. from the University of Central Florida.
