Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Patricia M. Flanagan, who was selected to the 2023 Influential Business Women list by the South Florida Business Journal.

The list “recognizes outstanding and influential women executives based in South Florida (Miami Dade, Broward or Palm Beach Counties) who have a strong record of leadership, performance and innovation in their industries plus meaningful community involvement.”

Flanagan, Co-Chair of the firm’s Trademarks Practice Group, represents clients in the retail, fashion, automotive, powersport, entertainment and hospitality industries. Her work often involves the strategic management and utilization of a company’s trademark portfolio, including the procurement, maintenance, licensing and protection of trademarks. She has extensive experience litigating cases that center on trademark infringement, unfair competition, false advertising and entertainment litigation in federal courts across the country.

On the transactional side, Flanagan often consults on brand protection and monetization strategies. She helps clients formulate and negotiate a range of agreements, from development and intellectual property ownership contracts to licenses, manufacturing and distribution deals. With a concentration in fashion law, her work involving apparel, footwear, accessories and other consumer products has helped companies save millions of dollars and positioned them as leaders in their industries.

In a Q&A with the SFBJ, Flanagan noted that she owes her success “to my clients. I refuse to let them down.” She also provided her own ‘Pearl of Wisdom’ to the publication. “Have and focus on gratitude throughout the day. A positive outlook will more likely lead to a positive outcome.”

Flanagan implements this mantra daily through both her legal practice and community work.

She is actively involved in local women’s initiatives, both at the firm and in her community. This past year, Flanagan mentored female associates and prospective law students, helping them adopt winning strategies while maintaining a work-life balance. She was a member of the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and its Civics, Service and Outreach Committee from 2021-2022 and is currently Vice President for the Palm Beach County Chapter for the 2022-2023 year.

Flanagan also supports a variety of local community groups and charities through her participation and contributions, including the Palm Beach Freedom Institute Inc. and the Cancer Alliance of Help and Hope, Inc., a nonprofit organization that benefits cancer patients in Palm Beach County.

She earned her J.D. and M.B.A. from Stetson University in Deland, Florida, and B.S. from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.
