Greenberg Traurig, P.A. Labor & Employment Practice Shareholder Katie Molloy presented “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Best Practices Amidst Policies and Regulations” at the 2022 Florida Business of DEI symposium in Tampa. The event was presented by The Florida Diversity Council, a chapter of the National Diversity Council. Molloy’s presentation focused on government regulations and policies impacting Florida businesses and how to promote DEI best practices while staying compliant with relevant laws.
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor provided opening welcoming remarks and Dr. Thomas Witherspoon, chief diversity officer for the University of Tampa, was the keynote speaker. A panel discussion titled “The Impact of the Great Resignation on DE&I” was moderated by Nisha Brice, director, strategic investment and impact, Orlando Economic Partnership, and included Pedro Suriel, senior vice president, DEI, Raymond James Financial, and Francisco Wen, manager, human resources and organizational engagement, Tampa Bay Rays. The symposium was held Aug. 19.
Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law, Molloy focuses her practice on trade secret and restrictive covenant litigation, and defending matters involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, and wage and hour claims in state and federal court. She provides advice and counseling on all employment law and human resources matters and assists employers with administrative investigations before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, U.S. Department of Labor, and the National Labor Relations Board.
