Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Patricia M. Flanagan, who was named a 40 Under 40 honoree by the South Florida Business Journal.
The list, which includes 40 professionals under the age of 40 from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, spotlights some of the region's most entrepreneurial and influential young leaders.
Flanagan, who serves as Co-Chair of Fox’s Trademarks Practice Group, assists emerging and industry-leading companies with the protection and enforcement of their intellectual property rights. She has extensive experience with brand protection and licensing, as well as litigating cases that center on trademark infringement, unfair competition, false advertising and entertainment litigation in federal courts across the country, including as lead trial counsel. She also is a Supreme Court of Florida Certified Circuit Mediator. Clients, including power players in the retail, fashion, automotive, powersport and marine, entertainment and hospitality sectors, rely on her strategic management of their brands and to spearhead various IP transactions that shape their business growth in targeted markets.
On the transactional side, Flanagan helps clients formulate and negotiate a range of agreements from development and intellectual property ownership contracts to licenses, manufacturing and distribution deals. With a concentration in fashion law, her work involving apparel, footwear, accessories and other consumer products has helped companies save millions of dollars and positioned them as leaders in their industries.
Beyond her practice, Flanagan is a mentor to young female associates through the firm’s Women’s Initiative as well as prospective law students outside of Fox. She has also committed to taking part in the Ally Action Pledge through Diversity Lab’s Inclusion Blueprint. As a participant, she must champion at least one diverse associate or junior partner by ensuring they receive career-enhancing work, making introductions to contacts who can expand their client relationships and facilitating connections with at least three clients.
Flanagan is a member of the International Trademark Association and served as the National Delegate Officer and Director of the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Federal Bar Association for 2021-2022. She also supports a variety of local community groups and charities through contributions and participation, including the Palm Beach Freedom Institute Inc., which is a Section 501(c)(3) private foundation, and the Cancer Alliance of Help and Hope, Inc., a nonprofit organization that benefits cancer patients in Palm Beach County.
She earned her J.D. and M.B.A. from Stetson University and B.S. from the University of Central Florida.
