Cozen O’Connor announced the addition of attorney Margo K. Ceresney to its Private Client, Trusts and Estates Group — a move that further expands both the Private Client, Trusts and Estates Group and the firm’s new Boca Raton, Florida office. Margo, who joins as a member, brings to the firm more than a decade of experience guiding clients through the complexities of estate and gift planning, trust and estate administration, tax, family law, and succession planning.
As the ninth attorney to join both the Private Client, Trusts and Estates Group and the Boca Raton office in the past seven months, Margo works with individuals, families, and/or their advisers to develop custom estate planning/wealth transfer strategies that optimize their tax and non-tax objectives. She comes to the firm from Proskauer Rose LLP where she was a senior associate attorney in Private Client Services.
“We opened this office last September to be in closer proximity to our clients and to be a part of their community. Margo will help strengthen our local and personal ties and that will underscore and reinforce that effort,” said Stuart Morris, managing partner of the Boca Raton office. “I’m thrilled she’s chosen to join us.”
“Over the past decade, Margo’s focused exclusively on helping to develop and confidently execute what are for most clients unique, deeply personal wealth transfer strategies and assisting fiduciaries in navigating the estate/trust administration process,” said Helene Jaron, chair of the Private Client, Trusts and Estates Group. “As such, she represents yet another important step in laying the foundation needed to build our practice and our presence in South Florida. She’s a terrific addition and I’m very much looking forward to working with her.”
Ceresney brings to the firm a strong background in drafting estate planning documents, including wills and various types of trusts. As a hands-on attorney, she often works one-on-one with clients, helping them structure estate plans and, when necessary, addressing and resolving disputes during the estate/trust administration process.
“As a trusted family adviser, I believe communication, respect, attention to detail, and hard work are all keys to building client relationships,” said Ceresney. “For me, Cozen O’Connor is a perfect fit. The firm has a strong and growing Florida presence, and I’m excited to leverage its HomeBase family office platform, which will allow me to better serve my clients while also expanding and strengthening my practice.”
As noted above, Ceresney is the ninth attorney to join both the Private Client, Trusts and Estates Group and the Boca Raton office in the past seven months in addition to Stuart Morris, Ellen S. Morris, Howard S. Krooks, Gregory S. Bloshinsky, Michael S. Gross, Cassandra Jelincic, and Heather Beale who joined the firm in September 2021. Ryan Chusid joined the firm earlier this year. Ceresney earned her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law; her LL.M. from University of Miami School of Law; and her B.A. from Brandeis University.
