TALLAHASSEE -  A man is suing an apartment complex property management company for an alleged shooting.

Jharion Walker filed a lawsuit on Jan. 26 in the Leon County Circuit Court against HW Tally, LLC, and Cherokee Hillwood, LLC for negligence.

According to the lawsuit, HW Tally owned, operated, managed and maintained Hillwood Apartments on Nov. 18, 2020, when Walker was shot multiple times by an armed individual in a vehicle with a semi-automatic assault rifle.

Walker claims HW Tally was negligent in maintaining premises free from harm for guests, failed to retain adequate security personnel to patrol, failed to monitor the premises, failed to provide proper and sufficient lighting for the premises, failed to have surveillance cameras throughout the premises, failed to implement security policies and failed to implement and upkeep sufficient physical access barriers to property. No assailant has been apprehended for the incident.

Walker was caused to suffer great bodily harm, permanent physical injuries, conscious mental anguish, pain and suffering in the past and future, past medical expenses and future expenses, the suit says.

Walker is represented by Matthew Williams of Tallahassee.
