ORLANDO - A pharmacy services company is being sued for an alleged data breach that allowed personal information of individuals to be accessed.

Lori Greiner and Darrell Swanson filed a federal class action lawsuit on Jan. 26 in the Middle District of Florida against Bioplus Specialty Pharmacy Services, LLC. for breach of implied contract and a declaratory judgment.

According to the lawsuit, the defendant failed to adequately secure and safeguard electronically stored personal identification information including Social Security numbers, full names, birth dates and prescription information. On Nov. 11, 2021, Defendant learned of an unauthorized breach in its system that allowed the access to this information in October.

Plaintiffs seek orders seeking additional security measures and are represented by Katherine Earle Yanes of Tampa.
