ORLANDO -- Disney Parks and Resorts has been sued for a woman allegedly getting electrocuted while attempting to use an outlet in her hotel room.

Courtney Randall filed a lawsuit on Nov. 4 in Orange County Circuit Court against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S., Inc. for negligence.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 9, 2018, Randall was attending the park with her family. While in their hotel room, they noticed that the electrical outlets did not work and they protruded out of the wall, the suit says. Randall notified Disney and was assured that someone would be there the same day to check out the issue, the suit says.

On Sept. 10, 2018, believing that the issue had been addressed while she and her family attended the park, Randall was attempting to use the electrical outlet and was electrocuted, the suit says.

Randall says she was caused to suffer suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, the expense of medical care and loss of future earning capacity.

Randall is represented by Max A. Eichenblatt of Winter Park.
