With a new US administration and an ongoing global pandemic, limitations on international travel and employee transfers have exacerbated an already complex immigration situation and continue to impact global organizations.
In a survey conducted in September by the EACC Network, nearly 90% of respondents said the travel restrictions alone impacted their company/organization/operations, with 74% answering that the impact had been ‘significant’ or ‘noticeable’.
While the reopening of the U.S. border to travelers from the Schengen Area and other European countries beginning in November is excellent news, it remains to be seen what the long-term effects of the EU-US border closures will have on labor shortages and talent retention for companies here in the United States.
