Nelson Mullins Announces Three New Partners in Florida

Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP has announced three new partners across its Florida footprint:

Paul Bennett joins in Orlando from Moye, O’Brien, Pickert, Dillon & Masterson, where he was an associate. His practice focuses on construction litigation. In particular, Mr. Bennett’s practice is devoted to assisting clients resolve complex construction problems relating to massive infrastructure projects ranging in value from $450 million to over $2 billion. He represents clients in all aspects of the construction process and has been involved in resolving complex legal issues associated with projects. He has successfully resolved a variety of complicated legal issues relating to large-scale public infrastructure projects, including highways, railroads, bridges, light rail, and industrial power facilities. He has assisted clients throughout the United States, including on projects in Florida, Texas, California, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Colorado.

Shahrzad Emami Shaw joins in Boca Raton from the Miami Association of Realtors®, where she was chief legal counsel. She focuses on affordable housing matters and has experience representing organizations and groups in all aspects of real estate and/or affordable housing development, from site acquisition to financing and through closing.  Emami has worked with various governmental agencies at the local, state, and federal level, traditional lending institutions, and nonprofits to structure business transactions and draft legal documentation for affordable housing ventures.

Justin Kaplan joins in Miami from DiFalco, Fernandez & Kaplan, where he was a partner. He has litigated in various jurisdictions throughout the United States for both domestic and international clients. His practice centers on complex business disputes, partnership disputes, real estate litigation, defense of class actions, suits for replevin of personal property, and general outside counsel services, among others.
