TALLAHASSEE -- A business has filed suit against the Florida surgeon general and the head of the Florida Department of Health for requiring customers to show proof of vaccinations.

Bead Abode, Inc. filed a complaint on September 10 in Leon County Circuit Court, fighting an order that fines businesses $5,000 per customer in violation of the mandate that customers must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination of post-infection recovery to enter an establishment.

Bead Abode argues that this is unconstitutional and it has always practiced very safe and clean management of the location due to having a lot of retirees as customers. Bead Abode maintains that the business will suffer due to the new mandate.

Bead Abode seeks for the court to rule the a declaration that Florida Statues 381.00316 is unconstitutional and order emergency injunctive relief enjoining the Defendant from enforcing the statute statewide.
