Lawyers of the Year

Dennis J. Roman, John R. Ninosky and Shannon P. Fellin have been selected 2022 Lawyers of the Year in their respective practice areas and demographic regions. The designation reflects the high level of respect a lawyer has earned among other leading lawyers in the same communities and the same practice areas for their abilities, professionalism and integrity. 

Dennis J. Roman, Pittsburgh, Legal Malpractice Law – Defendants

For over 30 years, Mr. Roman has concentrated his practice in the defense of professionals, with particular emphasis on lawyer liability claims. He has successfully defended attorneys and law firms sued as a result of claimed malpractice arising from myriad fields, including medical malpractice, securities, commercial litigation, corporate transactions, employment law, family law, bankruptcy, and more. A graduate of Duquesne University School of Law, Mr. Roman has an AV® preeminent™ rating with Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American, Pennsylvania and Allegheny Bar Associations, the Defense Research Institute and the Pennsylvania Defense Institute. 

John R. Ninosky, Harrisburg, Litigation – Insurance

A member of the firm’s Health Care  Department, Mr. Ninosky is highly experienced in medical malpractice as well as general liability matters involving personal injury litigation. He has successfully tried dozens of cases to verdict in all of Pennsylvania's federal courts and in 11 county courts of common pleas. He is accomplished in methods of alternative dispute resolution and he regularly conducts arbitrations and mediations throughout Pennsylvania. Active in the legal and civic communities, he is a member of the Dauphin and Cumberland County Bar associations, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, the Defense Research Institute and the St. Thomas More Society. Mr. Ninosky is an honors graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the Dickinson School of Law. In addition to being licensed in all of Pennsylvania's federal courts, he is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, and United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.

Shannon P. Fellin, Harrisburg, Workers’ Compensation Law – Employers

Ms. Fellin concentrates her practice exclusively in workers' compensation, representing trucking companies, restaurants, construction companies, candy manufacturers, boroughs/municipalities, colleges, hospitals, agricultural businesses, distribution centers and staffing agencies in all manner of matters related to workers' compensation. She takes a hands-on approach to working with clients, actively engaging them in an open dialogue regarding topical issues relevant to their business. Ms. Fellin works closely with employers to develop policies and procedures to reduce workers' compensation exposure and to educate them on the Workers' Compensation Act. A graduate of the University of Delaware and Dickinson School of Law, she is a member of the Pennsylvania and Dauphin County Bar Associations, and the Human Resource Professionals of Central PA organization.
