TAMPA -- A man is suing a hospital and other medical care providers over the death of his wife.

Michael Cauble, as personal representative of the estate of Tabitha Renee Cauble, deceased, filed a complaint on July 16 in Hillsborough County Circuit Court against St. Joseph's Hospital, Vanessa Valezquex Ruiz, M.D., Aldo R. Rosales, A.R.N.P, Emergency Medical Associates of Tampa Bay, LLC., EMATB, LLC and Excelis Medical Associates for negligence and vicarious negligence.

According to the complaint, on May 30, 2019, Tabitha Cauble was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 75. The Hillsborough County EMS and Hillsborough Fire Rescue were called on scene due to the extensive damage to Cauble's vehicle.

Cauble was pulled from the wreckage and taken to the hospital responsive. Michael Cauble alleges that at the hospital, Rosales performed an inadequate physical exam and failed to correct injuries, thinking the accident was minor instead of a major accident.

Rosales discharged Cauble with 10 mg of Toradol and advised her to see her primary physician the next day. Michael took Tabitha home and the following day when he returned from work, he found his wife dead. The autopsy found her colon had been perforated and had extensive blunt abdominal trauma, the suit says. Michael Cauble alleges that it is the hospital's neglect for not doing a full physical examination and missing the abdominal trauma that caused his wife to die.

Cauble is represented by Gregory J. Perenich.
