Peggy Smith Bush, Special Counsel in the firm’s Orlando office, has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Transportation Lawyers Association (TLA). Mrs. Bush will serve as a Representative at Large.
For eight decades, the TLA has been in the forefront of educating transportation attorneys. Through CLE courses and regular publications, TLA’s growing membership stays abreast of new developments in state and federal law affecting all modes of transportation.
Mrs. Bush has nearly two decades of experience defending companies, primary and excess insurance carriers, large self-insureds, and public entities against claims of premises liability, product liability, and general casualty. While much of her background includes general personal injury and products liability defense, she has become a thought leader in the transportation law industry serving as a frequent speaker at seminars across the country. Active in many professional and community service organizations, Mrs. Bush is currently serving her second term on The Florida Bar’s Mental Health & Wellness of Florida Lawyers Committee, and she has served as the Awards Chair of the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers. Additional organizations in which she is involved include the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC), the George C. Young American Inn of Court – Master level, and the Orange County Bar Association’s Mentorship Program.
