Polsinelli’s National Real Estate Expansion Continues with New Miami Shareholder Louis D. Rubin

Polsinelli PC issued the following announcement on July 29.

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli is continuing its national Real Estate Practice expansion, welcoming new real estate Shareholder Louis D. Rubin in the firm’s Miami office. Rubin brings unique experience in the renewable energy sector.

Rubin focuses his practice on representing private equity funds, real estate developers and individuals in real estate development and investment transactions across all asset classes. He has experience with commercial lending and project finance in the energy sector, where he focuses on financing renewable energy projects. Rubin also has a broad range of corporate and transactional experience that he capably leverages to find solutions and create efficiencies for his clients.

“We are pleased to continue our ongoing national real estate practice growth with the addition of Louis. He is a well-rounded and talented real estate lawyer who will bring great value and service to our clients,” said Polsinelli Real Estate Practice Chair Amy Kiefer Hansen. “Louis’ special emphasis on the renewable energy industry is something we look forward to tapping, while also utilizing his knowledge working with private equity funds and developers – particularly in the South Florida region.”

Rubin leverages his previous experience representing Florida-based real estate developers in acquisition, development and disposition of several residential, commercial and mixed-use projects. He also has experience representing sponsors and developers of renewable and green energy projects, including wind, solar, battery storage and liquid natural gas in various project finance transactions in North America.

“Polsinelli’s client-service focus, strategic approach to growth and entrepreneurial spirit were desirable to me as I make the transition into this new chapter of my legal career,” said Rubin. “I look forward to growing my practice with the firm, and the opportunity to drive business growth locally in Miami. There’s a unique opportunity for me to help contribute with my renewable energy knowledge, and I am ready for the challenge.”

Rubin is the 25th attorney to join Polsinelli’s growing Real Estate Department this year. Most recently, Shareholder Kimberlie Pearlman and Associate Nataly Yosef joined the Chicago office, while the San Francisco office welcomed Principal Weston B. Rockers. Polsinelli’s Miami office has a real estate development and finance focus having represented some of the largest and most prominent developments in Southeast Florida.

“We are pleased to grow our Miami office capabilities with the unique skillset and robust corporate and transactional experience that Louis brings,” said Miami Office Managing Partner J. Everett Wilson. “As our client base continues to expand and evolve with more sophisticated and specialized needs, attorneys like Louis are essential to serve that growing demand locally in South Florida and at the national level as well.”

Rubin earned his undergraduate degree from Northeastern University before obtaining a J.D., cum laude, from New York Law School. He also earned an LL.M. in Real Estate Development from the University of Miami School of Law. Rubin was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America as “One to Watch for Energy Law” in Miami in 2021.
