Student claims injury after being struck by easel at school

ORLANDO -- A college student is claiming to have been injured after being struck in the head with an easel. 

Cassidy Davis filed a complaint on May 4 in Orange County Circuit Court against Valencia College for negligence. 

According to the complaint, Davis was a student at Valencia College. On Feb. 10, 2020, Davis alleged that Valencia College had a known potential hazard with an unsecured or improperly secured easel. 

As a result of the easel being unsecured, it fell backwards and allegedly hit Davis on the head. Davis claims to have suffered serious and permanent injuries due to being struck in the head with the easel. 

Davis claims to also have suffered disability, disfigurement, permanent and significant scarring, mental anguish, loss of the capacity for the enjoyment of life, expense of hospitalization, and medical and nursing care and treatment.

Davis seeks judgement for the damages she has suffered. Davis is represented by Carolyn M. Salzmann.
