TAMPA - A lawsuit filed against the Finish Line Saloon and the bar's owner Sylvia Blocker accuses the establishment of allowing violence and fights between drunk patrons that caused a customer's death.
According to a wrongful death complaint filed on March 29 in the Hillsborough County Judicial Court, decedent Kevin McCaffrey visited the Finish Line on October 13, 2018. While leaving, he was allegedly attacked and beaten by drunk patrons of the bar, causing severe injury, brain damage, disability, hospitalization and ultimately death.
The suit says that there is a history of violence at the Finish Line due to a lack of security and over-serving of alcohol.
The defendants are charged with negligence and wrongful death by McCaffrey's estate representative Collin McAffrey. McAffrey is represented by Fulgencio Law PLLC of Tampa.
