Baker and Hostetler issued the following announcement on Jan. 2.
BakerHostetler announced that 17 lawyers have been elected to the partnership. The new partners are in nine of the firm’s offices and represent clients in the practice areas of Business, Employment, Intellectual Property and Litigation.
New partners in the firm’s Business Group:
Joseph M. Esmont (Cleveland) litigates complex commercial, mass tort and fraud cases, especially in the energy, utilities and financial services industries; restructures troubled companies; protects clients from struggling business partners; and advises on transactions with distressed firms. He earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and his B.A. from Towson University. Joe was previously counsel at the firm.
Laurice Rutledge Lambert (Atlanta) focuses her practice on healthcare law, advising healthcare providers, investors and insurers in structuring complex transactions involving mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic affiliations and alignments, as well as on regulatory and compliance matters. She received her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law and her B.A. from the College of William and Mary. Laurice was previously an associate at the firm.
Andrew V. Layden (Orlando) concentrates his practice on commercial bankruptcy, troubled loan workouts, financial restructuring and commercial litigation. He represents financially distressed businesses and their owners in a variety of industries, including energy, hospitality, retail, healthcare and real estate. Andrew received his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and his B.S. from Florida State University. He was previously an associate at the firm.

Ashlee C. Grant (Houston) represents management in all aspects of labor and employment law. Her practice includes representing management in both federal and state court litigation and arbitration proceedings involving allegations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation in violations of Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 1981 of the Civil Rights Act and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. Ashlee earned her J.D. from Tulane University Law School and her B.A. from Northwestern University. She was previously an associate at the firm.

Brendan E. Clark (Cleveland) practices intellectual property and technology law, primarily in patent enforcement and procurement matters. He also has experience working cases involving trademarks, copyrights and technology issues, and represents clients in the software, aerospace and defense, and communication industries. Brendan earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and his B.S. from the University of Illinois. He was previously an associate at the firm.
Carrie A. Longstaff (New York) focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation, licensing, opinion work and transactional IP due diligence. She has represented clients in various tribunals on matters of trademark, copyright, patent, trade secret and complex commercial issues. Carrie received her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.S. from the University of Delaware. She was previously counsel at the firm.
Jason P. Grier (Atlanta) practices before federal district courts and administrative tribunals such as the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He has nationwide experience litigating all types of intellectual property disputes. Jason earned his J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law, his M.S. from Georgia State University and his B.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Matthew D. Feil (New York) focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, civil asset forfeiture and environmental matters. He received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, his Master of Environmental Studies from The Evergreen State College and his B.A. from American University. Matthew was previously an associate at the firm.
Jonathan A. Forman (New York) works with hedge fund and private equity fund managers, investment advisers, broker-dealers, insurance companies, and other financial services companies and their management to respond to regulatory examinations and government investigations as well as to resolve complex disputes. He received his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and his B.A. from Emory University. Jonathan was previously counsel at the firm.
Thomas E. Hogan (Washington, D.C.) represents clients in complex commercial, environmental and administrative law litigation. He advocates for clients in their dealings with regulators and counsels them on proactively managing potential liabilities. Bridget S. James R. Morrison (Seattle) represents companies and individuals in commercial litigation, employment matters, data privacy, class actions and internal investigations.
